Ticking off a point on my bucket list always gives me a moment of heebie-jeebies followed by joyful excitement and feeling like an achiever in someway. While the heebie-jeebies possibly come from an open window, the excitement is real and keeps on getting back whenever I remember the special happenings.
Yetis and cats
„It’s a new era in fashion – there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together” – Alexander McQueen. I believe fashion is much more than just materialistic consumerism despite the moneymaking roots so I try to invest in fashion as an approach to individualism. Therefore I’m on the never ending mission of building up a wardrobe with unique fashion pieces and reliable basics.
Spring
Spring time is right around the corner and with the rising temperatures it becomes more pleasurable to spend time outside. Since here and there one can already spot the first bold flowers starting to flourish and the bare trees getting green tops again.
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to her. It just blooms.”

The backpack is back
Backpacks are probably the most practical invention after the umbrella that folds into a handbag when it is not raining. They can be super convenient and will make trips to the next manicure salon or the nearest waffle house somehow feel more athletic. Still I was an idiot in high school and felt the need to swap mine for various way to tiny purses. The target was to look more grown up when in reality I was permanently dropping and losing stuff, which was to big to fit into my purse, just because I didn’t appreciated my backpack’s worth long enough.
Girls’ day
Winter weekends aren’t the easiest to plan. You never know how the weather will turn out since its unpredictable around this time of the year, at least in Germany. That day rain was prognosticated for the entire midday. Nevertheless my friend Caro and I boldly got dressed up to spend a typical girl’s day together. So we went out to shoot our outfits and to have lunch afterwards. Surprisingly we still had quite some luck with the weather.
The breakfast club
The early bird gets the worm is really not up to date anymore. Since today the early bird would rather get the creamiest avocado toast! Lately breakfasts have become my favorite meal of the day for several causes. First of all they are the perfect reason to leave your warm bed in the morning and an early breakfast also provides you with the necessary energy to start your day.
GDS
From the 10 to 12 February 2016 the international shoe and trade fair GDS (Global Destination For Shoes & Accessories) opened its biannual gates in Düsseldof. This time I got the opportunity to visit the GDS for the first time and could already cast an eye on the shoe and accessories trends of tomorrow and beyond as well as the new collections for the autumn and winter season of 2016/2017. Next to the 800 brands, who showcased their newest collections in the three themed GDS worlds called HIGHSTREET,STUDIO and POP UP, the FashionBloggerCafé shoedition by styleranking took place for the fourth time last friday.
Choupette
Choupette – the bag that purrs. For starters: Choupette is the name of Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved birman cat (maybe you are already following her on instagram or twitter). Choupette is perhaps the only cat, who has two housemaids caring for her day and night. Karl Lagerfeld even designed two collections inspired by Choupette consisting of various accessories such as socks, keychains, handbags and T-shirts.
Ego update
Not too long ago I visited the Ego Update exhibition in the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf. Alain Bieber, the curator of the Ego Update exposition, pushed Art to another level and connected it to the future of our digital identities. The exhibition especially devotes itself to the phenomenon “Selfie” and displays how our vision of being human changed under the influence of digital media.
